Our exclusive OLED technology, based on a specific organic thin film structure and a proven manufacturing process, establish two basic proprietary technology blocks, resulting in these key advantages:
Significant reduction in operating voltage of the device (factor 2 compared to the state-of-the-art): the excellent transport properties and charge carrier injection properties result in an operating voltage very close to the band gap of the emission layer and thus the theoretical limit.
Accurate and efficient charge injection from the contact electrodes (cathode and anode), thus effectively supporting a smooth and robust manufacturing process.
Excellent temporal stability of e.g. the operating voltage (drift over lifetime is 0.2V compared to about 2V for competitive solutions). The excellent charge injection enables the device to be highly resistant to minor degradations of the metal/organics interface – effectively eliminating the voltage increase that is typically experienced in conventional devices.
Low thermal dissipation, thanks to the excellent conductivity of our charge transport layers and the superior efficiency of the devices.
Record energy efficiency (factor 3 to 4 with respect to the state-of-the-art) due to the low operating voltage and the capability to use a highly reflective metal anode (Al of the IC wafer) together with a semi-transparent cathode. The system is effectively optimized for maximum light output.
