CEA Partnership
MicroOLED benefits from a very close Research & Development partnership with CEA-LETI (Laboratory for Electronics & Information Technology), one of the largest European centers of excellence for applied research in microelectronics. Their collaboration focuses on developing ongoing innovations in higher OLED efficiency, advanced packaging, enhancing system integration, etc.
CEA-LETI operates under the direction of the technical research management at CEA, the French Atomic Energy Commission. Its primary objective is to help companies to increase their competitiveness through technological innovation and transfer of its technical know-how to industry. A major player in the MINATEC Micro-Nano technologies innovation center, CEA-LETI maintains 10,000 m2 state-of-the-art clean rooms, with an investment in equipment valued at 160 million euros. CEA-LETI currently employs around 1,400 people. Additionally, about 1,000 CEA employees and 100 contractors from industrial partners work on-site at CEA-LETI within the framework of bilateral collaborations. Approximately 75% of CEA-LETI's annual income is based on industry research contracts. The agency has established a significant portfolio of high-level patents, more than 180 patents and 700 publications were filed in 2007.
